This year LeeFest will once again be supporting Kids Company Charity. They are an amazing organisation based in central London that provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people.
They operate a number of centres and services providing much needed support and care to over 13,500 children and young people across the capital. Most of these children have experienced severe trauma in their lives and live in severe deprivation, without an adult to guide them, care for them and keep them safe.
Most amazingly of all, KidsCo show love to the people in our society that are the hardest of all to love, those that some consider don't deserve support and are so easily given up on because of their protectively hard exterior. KidsCo reaches out to them offering a hand. Sometimes a little love is all that is needed to start changing a life!
Thus, LeeFest is proud to be able to support KidsCo on behalf of everybody involved in the festival, from the organisers to the audience.
We try our hardest to support KidsCo in every way that we can, sapping every bit of good that LeeFest can provide.
Money - At least half of all the profits from this year will be given directly to KidsCo. The other will be put straight back into the festival!
Opportunities - We provide opportunities for the children that KidsCo look after to get involved in the event doing things they love such as artwork, performing or photography.
Publicity - LeeFest is a high profile event and we can utilise this to help spread KidsCo's all-important message of love and care.
